Junk in the Trunk
By: Erin Torbett

Have you ever wondered what you would find if you searched a teachers car? Well, we found lots of interesting tings in Mrs. Kirby’s car.
Mrs. Kirby drives a blue Durango, with new tires. Kirby parks in a reserved space in the teachers’ parking lot. She also has an 89.3 His Radio bumper sticker on the back.
The temperature controls were set on the highest heat with it aiming at face and feet. It was a cold morning though, so those controls probably change in the warmer afternoon. Mrs. Kirby’s radio pre-sets included 92.5, 93.7, 98.9, 104.9, and 98.1. We found it strange that though Mrs. Kirby has a CD player, she has no CD’s in her car. We also found an Ingles gas receipt, for x-amount of money, in the cup holder.
In the front side compartments, we found some unordinary items. For those who have seen any Law and Order or CSI show, you know what “creepy murder gloves” look like, well, Mrs. Kirby has some. Though she has these gloves, she uses them strictly for cold days to keep her hands warm. Kirby also had some “delicious” looking sunflower seeds that expired on January 27, 2009.
In the center console, Mrs. Kirby kept all of her emergency needs items. We found four bottles of hand sanitizer, allergy medicine, Kleenex, and eye glass cleaner. There was also a beautiful picture of Dalton Kirby from 2003.
The back seat was home to many food, gum, and dum-dum rappers, most likely thanks to Dalton Kirby. We found drawings and piano books. There was a DVD player in the roof of the car. Movies for the DVD player included, Stars Wars 1, 2, and 3. We found an old set of head phones falling apart, the duck tape was not holding much together.
Mrs. Kirby’s trunk held several blankets, towels, and umbrellas. We found a reusable grocery bag: thanks for going green, Mrs. Kirby! We found a first aid kit that looked like it had been dropped in the dirt a few times. There were four bags of assorted cookies found in the trunk.
You can learn a lot from the things you find in someone’s car. We have learned Mrs. Kirby likes a variety of music, she buys her gas from Ingles, and she like to keep her hands warm. We also learned that someone plays the piano, the family is Star War fans, and they like to eat cookies.
If we were to look in your car what would we learn about you?

Dear Abbie,
I think my boyfriend is keeping something important from me. What should I do?

~Dazed and Confused

Dear Dazed and Confused,
Try not to worry so much. It could be the smallest thing. When he’s ready to tell you he will. Cause if you keep trying to get it out of him you might drive him away. Also if you act to anxious to hear it, he might think your anxious to tell it. Tell him that if he needs to talk that your always willing to listen!

Dear Abbie,
I am afraid my boyfriend is going to break up with me, but I do not want him to. What should I do about it?
~Zebra Cake

Dear Zebra Cake,
Don’t try to hang on to something that wants to be let go. If he wants to break up with you, its going to happen sooner or later. It’s his lost if he does leave you. Just remember if something does happen, move on! Because he will, so you should too!

Dear Abbie,
Is it wrong to date your man’s best friend?
~Knie

Dear Knie,
Oh girl. I wouldn’t even go there. That is completely off limits. It’s way to dangerous. Cause you will end up causing your "man" and his friend to fight!
