Knowledge Master Open
What is the KMO? The KMO is an on-site competition that allows Liberty High's team to compete against schools around the world without leaving the campus. Two hundred curriculum-based questions are sent to each location on a disk. Students have two sixty-second chances to answer the questions. Bonus points are given if the questions are answered in the first thirty seconds, making it a competition of knowledge and strategy.

KMO Competition - April 21, 2010
After practicing for months, a team of students from Liberty High School joined thousands of students throughout the country and in many foreign countries competing on April 21 in the 54th Knowledge Master Open (KMO) competition. In this competition, students compete “virtually” online with other teams; this allows all students the opportunity to compete in a large academic event without the expense of traveling to a central site. Results of the contest are tabulated into overall, state, and enrollment-size rankings. Academic Coach Yvonne Mayo described this year’s event as “one of the most difficult and grueling contests she has seen.” The contest is made up of 200 questions and teams are scored based on accuracy and speed of their answers.
Team members this year were Team Captain Haley Wilson, Seniors Dylan Brooks, Cassy Fisher, and Ashley Whitman, and Juniors Kylie Black, Samantha Butler, Stephanie Cope, Blake Crooks, and Brittany Mayo. Dylan Pancoast and Robbie Powell also participated in the competition. Congratulations to these outstanding students!
